Tasks
What you'll do:
- Support implementation of local/regional operations plans and worldwide handling strategy
- Monitor Lufthansa Cargo operational performance, subcontractors, cost/service KPIs and products
- Drive process improvements in export/import cargo services and warehouse operations
- Liaise with Ground Handling Agent to ensure service standards and resolve handling issues
- Manage warehouse functions: cargo storage, dangerous goods compliance, FAA/TSA regulations, equipment/ULDs
- Communicate with Lufthansa Cargo customers on imports/exports, express, and special cargo
- Maintain quality standards, documentation, and adherence to Lufthansa Cargo procedures
- Support budget planning, KPI dashboards, and local process enhancements

Requirements
The ideal candidate should have
- High school diploma/GED
- University Degree or equivalent higher education diploma is a plus
- 3-6 years’ of export and import warehouse operations experience
- Knowledge of warehouse and logistics management
- Strong computer skills
- Fluency in Italian and English; German is a plus
- Strong problem-solving, professionalism, reliability, and independence
- Committed, flexible, and able to excel in dynamic environments
- Highly desirable

- Direct operations and/or cargo handling experience at FCO airport, including handling special shipments and key customer accounts
- Strong relationship management with Rome and/or Italy local stakeholders, and experience in budgeting, cost control, KPI monitoring, and working with service providers
- Familiarity with cargo systems, cargo KPIs, and CargoIQ
- Knowledge of the cargo industry, including handling and airport facilities
- Familiarity with Italy’s cargo market and FCO airport operations; certifications for special cargo handling are a plus
- CHM/GOM qualification
