Tasks

The Airframe Related Components division of the Aircraft Component Services segment deals with the overhaul and repair of engine cowlings, thrust reversers, control surfaces, radomes and other components made of fiber-reinforced composites, among other things.

Support with:

  • Reverse engineering processes (material and functional analysis)
  • Development of repair processes for sandwich components made of carbon fiber reinforced plastics
  • Technical evaluation of material replacement
  • Creation of production data using CAD and modern technical aids (PlyCutter, laser projector)
  • Creation of repair instructions
  • Accompanying production processes
  • Aviation repair authorization (EASA 21J)

Requirements

Do you want to work independently on the repair and overhaul of high-performance composite components for the aviation industry? With us, you can experience and help shape every step directly on the component.

  • Be in at least the third semester of a degree course in mechanical engineering, materials engineering or comparable at the time of the internship
  • Enrollment for the entire duration of the internship (current certificate of enrollment and written proof of mandatory internship must be enclosed with the application) or internship between the Bachelor's and Master's degree program (gap year)
  • Sound knowledge in the field of fiber composites
  • Familiarity with CAD systems
