As a Duty Manager, you will be the key operational lead during your shift, ensuring safe, secure, punctual and customer-focused station operations. You’ll lead from the frontline, coordinate teams and service partners, manage irregularities and ensure a consistently excellent passenger experience.

Tasks

Your main tasks would be:

  • Lead and coordinate daily airport operations during your shift
  • Ensure safe, secure, punctual and high-quality service delivery
  • Monitor and coordinate ground handling partners and operational processes
  • Manage disruptions and operational irregularities, ensuring fast recovery
  • Act as a visible point of contact for passengers, with a strong focus on premium customers
  • Ensure compliance with airline, airport and regulatory requirements
  • Drive service quality and continuous improvement
  • Coordinate with airlines, airport authorities, crew, suppliers and other stakeholders
  • Support reporting, audits and other station-related administrative activities
  • Deputize for the Station Manager when required

Requirements

What are the formal requirements?

  • High school diploma and Bachelor’s degree
  • 2–3 years of professional experience, including at least 1 year in ground operations
  • Previous leadership experience in aviation is an advantage
  • Knowledge of airport procedures, Passenger Service, Aircraft Handling and DCS systems
  • IATA certification is an advantage
  • Fluent Bulgarian and excellent English, both written and spoken
  • German is desirable
  • Strong customer focus, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead and work effectively under time pressure
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
  • Legal right to work in Bulgaria
