The Business Development department is responsible for the strategic development and long-term competitiveness of Lufthansa Cargo. It identifies market opportunities, develops innovative business models, and oversees key initiatives in strategy, fleet management, organization, and innovation. It is also responsible for investment management and governance.
Tasks
During your internship, you will support us in implementing strategic initiatives and transformation projects. You will:
- Develop target scenarios, implementation plans, and progress overviews with
- Prepare workshops, management meetings, and coordination sessions
- Create analyses, presentations, and decision-making documents
- You’ll gain practical skills with a focus on further developing roles, responsibilities, and decision-making structures
- You’ll consolidate progress, risks, dependencies, and pending decisions from various areas of activity
- Participate in communication, change, and innovation initiatives
- Research strategic and organizational issues
- Assist in the development and testing of new solutions
- Help embed agile work and project methods into everyday business operations
- Participate in department meetings and cross-functional coordination sessions
Behind the scenes
Requirements
- At the time of the internship, you must be in at least your third semester of a degree program, e.g., in economics, strategy, organizational development, business psychology, transformation, air transportation, or logistics
- Enrollment for the entire duration of the internship (current certificate of enrollment; for a mandatory internship, a written proof of a mandatory internship must be included with the application) or an internship between the bachelor’s and master’s programs (gap year)
- Interest in strategy, transformation, organization, and innovation
- Very strong analytical and conceptual skills
- Structured and independent work style
- Ability to present complex content in an understandable way
- Ability to apply existing PowerPoint and Excel skills under professional guidance
- Strong communication skills and excellent command of German and English
- Initial practical experience in strategy, consulting, project management, transformation, or innovation is a plus
