Tasks

 As a Thermal Spray Technician you will be operating robotic thermal spray equipment to apply coatings to metal parts and components of aerospace turbines. You will be working with complex technical systems, ensuring high standards of safety and quality in every task.

Responsibilities and Tasks including but are not limited to the following:

  • Blasting, masking and cleaning metal parts and components in preparation for coating
  • Program, operate and monitor automated coating systems and robotic manufacturing cells (ABB)
  • Inspect coating thickness, coverage and quality according to engineering or manufacturer’s specifications
  • Compliance with quality standards as well as safety and operational regulations
  • Structure, plan, and schedule complex work and technical processes
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve technical challenges and optimize workflow
  • Maintain documentation of work completed using relevant software
  • Support in fault analysis and root cause investigation

Requirements

No experience in aviation? No problem, we'll get you up to speed. To start your career at Lufthansa Technik, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Completed technical vocational training in a metalworking profession (surface coater, automotive mechanic, plumber, locksmith, toolmaker, metalworker, precision mechanic etc.)
  • Experience with HVOF, Plasma Spray, APS (Atmospheric Plasma Spray), Flame, Arc-Wire
  • Completed qualification “European Thermal Sprayer”, ISO 14918 certification is an advantage
  • Very good written and spoken English and Portuguese skills
  • Valid visa/work permit for Portugal/EU
  • Ability to structure, schedule, and plan complex work processes and technical issues
  • Very good computer skills (MS Office, SAP, )
