  • The Machine Borer will operate and maintain a range of boring machines to manufacture precision aircraft components to defined tolerances.
  • You will work from technical drawings, measure accurately in imperial units, and take responsibility for the quality of your work.
  • The role involves adhering to company, safety, quality, and environmental procedures, maintaining accurate records, supporting training where required, and contributing to efficient, compliant machine shop operations.

Requirements

The ideal Candidate should meet the following requirements:

  • GCSE level education or equivalent
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Essential machining background
  • Experience with horizontal boring machines desirable
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Competence measuring in imperial units
  • Knowledge of machine shop practices and procedures
  • IT literacy for basic documentation and records
  • Aerospace experience advantageous but not essential
  • Some knowledge of CNC machining desirable
  • Strong initiative, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Effective communicator and proactive team player
