The Flight Operations Academy (FOA) is LAT's training center for the training and further education of specialists in flight operations. It qualifies flight operations officers, crew duty planners, crew controllers, flight operations engineers and other operations experts for airlines, business aviation, military and rescue flight operations worldwide.

Tasks

The Associate Manager Training FOA supports the management in the strategic and operational management of the training area, is the technical contact person and deputy to the Head of Flight Operations Academy.

He ensures quality, efficiency and compliance, coordinates trainers, optimizes processes and supports international customers. The area of responsibility includes the following duties:

  • Representing the Head of Flight Operations Academy in operational, administrative and customer-related matters
  • Organization and control of training planning, resource allocation and operational implementation
  • Technical supervision and support of trainers and OPS management
  • Review, maintenance and further development of training documents and digital learning content
  • Participation in audits, evaluation of feedback and initiation of improvement measures
  • Supporting the further development of training concepts and products

Requirements

Professional qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the most important international regulations (EASA, ICAO, IATA)
  • Experience in working with customers, authorities and internal departments

School education:

  • High school diploma and completed (specialized) university studies in a technical field (Bachelor/Master)

Professional training:

  • Several years of experience in central OCC/flight operations functions
  • Experience in conducting and organizing training, ideally as a trainer, in the areas of FOO/dispatch/traffic management, crew management/planning/control or cockpit/cabin crew

Personal qualities:

  • Analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Confident appearance, strong communication and argumentation skills
  • High service and quality orientation
  • Ability to work under pressure, initiative and flexibility
  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills
