As the Customs Manager, you will take the lead in managing a wide range of responsibilities, including:
- Evaluate compliance compatibility level for new incoming products and classify raw materials, finished goods, packaging components, and equipment to determine importability while also assigning HTSUS, FDA Product Code and when necessary, Schedule B, as well as any license requirements
- Act as a liaison to facilitate necessary documentation via Customs brokers and freight forwarders for submittal to U.S government agencies
- Directly support import/export planners with accurate shipment information such as arrival, departure, freight and export documentation
- Receive and audit all import invoices to support Accounts Payable for vendor invoice and billing discrepancies

If you want to be the next Customs Manager, you must fulfill the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3-5 years of international shipping experience required
- Experienced with international trade compliance, customs brokerage required
- Working experience with U.S. Government agencies such as CBP, BIS, EAR and DDTC required
- Material classification training for EAR and HTSUS
- Fluency in English language required
- German language desirable
- Knowledge of HTSUS and EAR material classification processes
- Skilled in transportation carrier relationship and Broker assignment, and Incoterm requirements
- MS Office skills as user
- Willingness to travel
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Manage constant time pressure
- Manage high stress levels
- Must possess a legal work permit in the U.S.
