Rave is Jeppesen’s domain-specific language for crew management systems, enabling optimized scheduling, compliance, and efficiency. Similar to C#/C++, with Python useful for reporting, it requires strong logic skills, interest in aviation, and eagerness to learn industry rules and optimization.

  • You develop, implement, and maintain business rules to optimize crew scheduling and resource allocation within the Crew Management System.
  • You analyze existing business processes, identify inefficiencies, and propose optimizations by translating business requirements into technical deliverables.
  • You create and execute test cases to validate the functionality of rules.
  • You collaborate with cross-functional teams and support the calibration of optimization parameters.
  • You configure business logic according to the specific requirements of the Jeppesen system and airline operations.

What's rave?

Rave is Jeppesen’s domain-specific language for crew management systems, built to handle complex scheduling, compliance, and logistics in aviation. Similar to C#/C++, it streamlines optimization tasks. Python skills are also useful, as many reports and tools are developed with it.

What is the role of the developer?

You design scheduling algorithms, ensure regulatory compliance, and boost airline efficiency. Rave’s focus on aviation-specific problems lets you implement solutions faster than with general-purpose languages, giving you tools tailored for the industry’s challenges.

Curious About Rave?

For a developer, mastering Rave means understanding aviation crew management logic and the rules of crew scheduling (collective agreements, EASA, etc.). While aviation knowledge helps, what matters most is curiosity, eagerness to learn, and solving linear optimization challenges in the industry.

Are You Ready for This Role?

  • You have a degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • You have at least 2 years of programming experience.
  • You are comfortable using basic Linux command line skills.
  • You have experience with any functional programming languages (e.g., C#, C++, Java, Python).
