The internship will involve the development and benchmarking of:
- Mixed-Integer Linear Programming (MILP) models for integrated aircraft–passenger recovery.
- Decomposition techniques such as Benders’ Decomposition and Column Generation.
- Supervised ML models (e.g., decision trees, end-to-end learning) to learn disruption scenarios and operational patterns.
- Hybrid approaches combining ML and optimisation for faster recovery decisions.
- Performance benchmarking against state-of-the-art methods using real disruption data.
- Scalable algorithm insights for robust airline operations.
