The key responsibilities and duties of the Grinder include, but are not limited to:

  • Operate various grinding machines to precise tolerances
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Read and interpret technical drawings accurately
  • Perform grinding operations using cylindrical and surface grinders
  • An awareness and understanding of responsibilities outlined in the Company’s environmental procedures
  • You will be required to maintain Practical Experience Record (PER) book
  • You may be required to train personnel with a specified area subject to your qualifications and experience
  • All duties shall be undertaken in compliance with Safety and Environmental Regulations and Company Procedures

The ideal Candidate should meet the following requirements:

  • Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate fluently in written and spoken English
  • Extensive experience working internal and external grinding machines. Knowledge of both essential
  • Aerospace background not essential but would be preferred
  • Experience of working with cylindrical and surface grinding machines
  • Knowledge of CNC grinding preferable
  • Proactive and analytical with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Effective communicator
  • Organised, PC literate, and able to work well under pressure
  • Team player with a willingness to learn, share knowledge, and support continuous improvement
  • Flexible with working hours, including occasional weekend overtime
  • Manual handling knowledge required
