We are seeking a skilled Machine Borer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating all types of boring machines, particularly horizontal boring machines and jig borers.

The key responsibilities and duties of the Borer/Miller include, but are not limited to:
- To operate all types of boring machines to fine limits
- Operate various boring machines to precision limits
- Work independently and take responsibility for assigned tasks
- Read, interpret, and work from technical drawings
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, OHM, CMM, and SOPM
- Demonstrate knowledge of horizontal boring practices and the ability to measure using imperial units
- Maintain accurate records, including the Practical Experience Record (PER) book
- Adhere to all safety and environmental regulations and company policies
- Train personnel in specific areas based on qualifications and experience
- Utilise computers for word processing, spreadsheets, and database programs
The ideal Candidate should meet the following requirements:
- GCSE level or equivalent
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Trained in machine shop technology and machining practices
- Extensive experience with horizontal boring machines and jig borers
- CNC boring and aerospace industry experience preferred
- Strong precision machining and quality control knowledge
- Ability to work independently and manage projects
- Proactive, analytical, and a strong communicator
- Skilled in planning, organization, and administration
- Ability to perform under pressure and make informed decisions
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
- Team player, committed to continuous improvement
Working Conditions:
- Must be willing to work shifts
- Training in overhead cranes, manual handling, and power tools
- Work involves standing for extended periods and lifting heavy components
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace (5S standard)
