As a Technical Support Engineer - Tooling Design, your key responsibilities will include:
- Design and develop new tooling concepts, supporting technical teams with drawings
- Create detailed tooling designs in SolidWorks, coordinating with internal/external suppliers
- Provide technical liaison for tooling development with internal and external resources
- Support daily tooling operations, including new, modified, and repaired tooling documentation
- Develop LTLGS tooling work instructions for consistent quality and maintenance
- Collaborate on process improvements, optimize tooling, and address non-conformities while maintaining OEM standards
- Create necessary engineering documentation
The ideal Candidate should meet the following requirements:
- Minimum HND in a mechanical discipline with strong CAD experience
- Higher qualifications considered if passionate about tooling design
- Training in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Statistical Process Control is a plus
- Strong CAD modeling and drafting skills (SolidWorks preferred) for tooling, jigs, and fixtures
- Experience in metal component processing and surface finishing operations
- Proficient in IT, with high analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Team player with experience in a matrix environment
- Innovative, analytical, decisive, and goal-oriented with strong multitasking abilities
- Flexible work schedule based on business needs; occasional travel may be required
- Office-based role with regular exposure to plating shop chemicals
