As a Technical Support Engineer - Tooling Design, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Design and develop new tooling concepts, supporting technical teams with drawings
  • Create detailed tooling designs in SolidWorks, coordinating with internal/external suppliers
  • Provide technical liaison for tooling development with internal and external resources
  • Support daily tooling operations, including new, modified, and repaired tooling documentation
  • Develop LTLGS tooling work instructions for consistent quality and maintenance
  • Collaborate on process improvements, optimize tooling, and address non-conformities while maintaining OEM standards
  • Create necessary engineering documentation

The ideal Candidate should meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum HND in a mechanical discipline with strong CAD experience
    • Higher qualifications considered if passionate about tooling design
  • Training in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Statistical Process Control is a plus
  • Strong CAD modeling and drafting skills (SolidWorks preferred) for tooling, jigs, and fixtures
  • Experience in metal component processing and surface finishing operations
  • Proficient in IT, with high analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Team player with experience in a matrix environment
  • Innovative, analytical, decisive, and goal-oriented with strong multitasking abilities
  • Flexible work schedule based on business needs; occasional travel may be required
  • Office-based role with regular exposure to plating shop chemicals
