Internship Legal Department

Join Lufthansa Cargo's Legal and Political Affairs Department as an international legal intern this summer. Gain hands-on experience in transport and aviation law, contribute to impactful projects, and collaborate with top legal professionals at our Frankfurt headquarters.

The internship is scheduled to start in June 2025 for 3 months. The internship will be remunerated.

The internship is compensated and offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in transport and aviation law at the forefront of the airfreight industry.

  • Conduct legal research and provide analysis on key legal and policy issues impacting the air cargo industry
  • Gain in-depth insights into the daily operations of an in-house legal and political affairs department at a major global cargo airline
  • Actively contribute to team meetings, providing new insights and perspectives on legal and regulatory matters affecting an airline
  • Evaluate current developments in case law and legislation in different jurisdictions
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of key legal department projects, including initiatives related to legal tech innovation
  • Engage, network and collaborate with legal teams, colleagues and interns across the Lufthansa Group

Pursuing a postgraduate master's degree in legal studies (LL.M.), ideally specializing in air law and transportation law. 

  • You are at least in the 3rd semester of a degree program at the time of the internship
  • Enrolled for the entire period of the internship (current certificate of enrollment and a written proof of mandatory internship must be enclosed with the application)
  • Fluent in English; familiarity with German is a plus but not mandatory
  • Quick understanding and the ability to work independently
  • Open to collaborating and communicating within a team
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Interest in or knowledge of current trends in legal technology is a plus
  • Proficient in using MS Office applications
  • EU/EFTA national or valid residence permit for Germany
