Ground Time Manager (80-100%, all genders)

The external Base Maintenance Team manages the preparation, execution, and control of subcontracted layovers at external MROs. The Ground Time Manager acts as SWISS’s representative, holding Single Point of Contact (SPOC) responsibility for all assigned aircraft.

  • Oversee MRO & SWISS Unit performance, ensuring alignment with KPIs
  • Lead the SWISS on-site team & external MROs ensuring compliance with working time laws
  • Ensure aircraft return to service within agreed ground times, meeting internal & external milestones
  • Coordinate actions for Ground Time events, addressing workflow, materials, milestones, & additional work requests, escalate when needed
  • Resolve irregularities with the MRO SPOC & internal SWISS teams
  • Support departments during aircraft preparation, execution, & post-maintenance phases
  • Ensure balanced QCD (Quality,Cost,Delivery) approach per contractual agreements & JPM
  • Manage & approve Additional Work Requests (AWRs) within contract scope
  • Implement corrective actions for non-conformities, driving improvements through CIP & SRS

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Aircraft Maintenance, CAMO, or Engineering
  • Strong knowledge of CAME and Part-M requirements
  • Proven experience in Project Management and Leadership
  • Technical knowledge of SWISS-operated aircraft is a plus
  • Strong intercultural competence and excellent communication skills
  • Quick decision-making ability, with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written), with German proficiency preferred
