The Flight Optimizer is responsible for:

  • Evaluates individual booking queues under consideration of operational, economic and quality specifications
  • Where required calculates and adjusts the gross volume for bookings
  • Reacts appropriately to capacity changes (e.g. equipment and schedule changes)
  • Blocks space and weight for certain bookings
  • Optimizes individual flights under observance of regulations
  • Completes and transfers flights to the load planning department under consideration of shipment ranking in case of planned or unplanned overbooking
  • Improves the loadfactor by accepting freight onto earlier flights
  • Where required contacts the Revenue Manager to adjust the overbooking parameters
  • Identifies and communicates process barriers within RM processes to his regional process manager

The ideal Flight Optimizer should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, Master desirable
  • Advanced English and Chinese required, German desirable
  • 0-3 years’ work experience in the airline industry desirable
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking
  • Ability to combine strategic thinking with operational action
  • Advanced communication skills
  • Knowledge of business administration and performance management
  • Teamwork spirit incl. high responsibility
  • Computer skills as a user
  • Must possess a legal work permit in China
  • Willing to work shifts
