The Technical Support Engineer's main tasks are:
- Support the repair and overhaul of aircraft components, ensuring compliance with airworthiness regulations
- Assist Operations with developing new processes and procedures based on approved data (OEM)
- Ensure published work aligns with authority requirements, safety info, and manufacturer data
- Obtain approval for deviations from published data, following internal and external procedures
- Provide technical support to Operations (e.g., reports, tooling info, work instructions, CAD designs)
- Assist in technical investigations and recommend improvements for new products, processes, and quality issues
- Support the development of new capabilities by providing tooling, equipment, and training
- Help develop processes in NDT, machining, metal treatment, paint removal, and plating
- Facilitate creation and updates of Master Task and Parts Lists in SAP, ensuring alignment with OEM data
- Comply with safety, environmental regulations, and company procedures
The ideal Candidate should meet the following requirements:
- Degree in Engineering (BEng) or equivalent experience; HND/industry experience also considered
- Training in Lean manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Statistical Process Control preferred
- Additional language skills (German/French) are beneficial
- Manufacturing industry experience, ideally in Aircraft/MRO environment, with OEM data support
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and basic metrology
- Experience with production control systems (MRP/ERP/SAP)
- Familiarity with LTLGS manufacturing technologies (e.g., Machine Shop, NDT, Plating, Assembly)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel, Visual Basic helpful)
- Experience with 3D CAD (SolidWorks) and basic simulation (FEA, kinematics)
- Knowledge of Project Management and aircraft industry airworthiness (EASA 145, CAMO, FAA, ICAO)
- Strong communication skills, both technical and non-technical
- Ability to interact with production, management, and customers
- Must have the right to live and work in the UK
