The key responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Undergo training in shot peening, grit blasting, and equipment operation within EASA 145 standards
  • Assist in setting up and operating shot peening machines
  • Learn to interpret work orders, blueprints, and technical drawings
  • Perform maintenance and cleaning of shot peening equipment
  • Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment
  • Work collaboratively to meet production goals and deadlines
  • Participate in ongoing training and development
  • Keep a clean workspace, ensuring efficient production flow
  • Adhere to quality, health, and environmental standards
  • Maintain a Practical Experience Record (PER) book

The ideal Candidate should meet the following requirements:

  • Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate fluently in written and spoken English
  • Good knowledge of health and safety requirements
  • Previous experience of working in an Engineering environment
  • Previous experience of working in Shot peening or Grit blasting environment (desirable)
  • Willingness to follow directions and learn from experienced shot peen operatives
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment is an asset
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and stand for extended periods of time
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety guidelines
  • Requires training in the use of overhead cranes
  • Involves the use of hand and power tools, ovens, and complex machinery
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workspace to 5S standards
  • Must be willing to work shifts
