As the IT Application Manager, you will be entrusted with a spectrum of responsibilities, including:

  • Application Ownership to manage i.e. oversee development, testing, deployment, bug-fixing and release management of applications for BU Logistics
  • Records and specifies complex IT requirements in order to draft and further develop IT systems
  • Support users during usage of information systems in operations, including 1st level support for LHT (Lufthansa Germany) applications and 2nd level support for LTCS (Lufthansa Technik Component Services) applications
  • Ensure close coordination of local IT requirements with central LHT department TI (Technology)
  • When requested, supports the development of business processes in the fields of logistics as part of the ITIL Information Technology Infrastructure Library) standards

To thrive in this role, we value a combination of the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years of experience with projects as well as methodical competence in the fields of project management and change management desirable
  • Fluency in English language required
  • Knowledge of Software life cycle management, IT Project Management and development models
  • Knowledge of MS Office (incl. Sharepoint) as well as programming language (e.g. VB script, PL/SQL), web technologies and database systems (ORACLE) required
  • Knowledge of tools HP QC/HP ALM/HP UFT, JIRA, ITIL process model, php & javascript for programming purposes as well as MySql for Database skills desirable
  • Willingness to travel
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must possess permit to work in the U.S.
