Internship Ground Operation and Process Management

You can only take off from the ground!

Ground Ops forms the interface between flight operations and the product area.

Our tasks include the definition of passenger and baggage processes for the hub airlines of the Lufthansa Group, as well as the communication of these topics. This includes check-in, boarding, the sale of ancillary services and baggage logistics.

In our team at five locations and all hubs of the Lufthansa Group, you can expect exciting tasks to actively help shape the (digital) future of processes at the airport.

  • Supporting test runs in ongoing airport operations to introduce new processes and helping to design innovative processes for greater customer satisfaction
  • Tracking user numbers and creating reports that are made available to management as a control tool
  • Collecting data relating to passenger and baggage processes on site in individual areas of airport operations and setting up a dashboard for global ground operations
  • Creating presentations and updating guidelines
  • Support for upcoming project initiatives
  • Planning, organizing and participating in events and workshops
  • Support with routine activities

The internship is scheduled to start in August/September 2024 for 6 months. The internship is remunerated.

We are looking for you and your skills to join our diverse team!

  • You are at least in the 3rd semester of a degree program at the time of the internship
  • Enrollment for the entire duration of the internship (current certificate of enrollment and written proof of mandatory internship must be enclosed with the application) or internship between the Bachelor's and Master's degree program (Gap Year)
  • Very good written and spoken English skills
  • High level of commitment and independence
  • Strong ability to work in a team
  • Reliability and sociability
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office applications, especially MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Experience in project management
