The duties of the EHS Manager include:
- Implement and maintain ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards using Lufthansa Technik integrated Management System Pro X
- Develop and perform internal audits to assess EHS management system conformity with ISO standards and other regulations
- Ensure compliance with COMAH regulations and submit Safety Report to HSE
- Engage with regulatory agencies for compliance with REACH and Environment Agency regulations
- Provide guidance and support to business as EHS Subject Matter Experts
- Monitor and maintain EHS procedures within the Integrated Management System
- Act as contact point with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and stakeholders
- Investigate EHS incidents, accidents, and non-conformances and implement CA/PA actions
- Facilitate discussions and advise employee EHS committee representatives
- Encourage employee engagement in EHS activities and programs
- Participate in Lufthansa Technik EHS community and attend EHS Summits
- Serve as conduit for Lufthansa Technik EHS leadership to Landing Gear Services management
The ideal EHS Manager should meet the following requirements:
- Educated to a degree level (Engineering/Chemistry or relevant to required knowledge) or relevant experience in similar role
- NEBOSH Diploma level or equivalent preferred
- Recognised Auditing qualification in 14001 or 45001 preferred
- Experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems in the aviation MRO industry
- Knowledge of COMAH regulations and experience in developing safety management systems for sites handling hazardous substances
- Familiarity with other EHS requirements for a COMAH site
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging stakeholders at all levels of the organization, regulatory agencies, and industry partners
- Proven leadership abilities
- Ability to travel as needed to support EHS initiatives, attend meetings, and participate in training, conferences, and industry events
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
- Office environment, based in Hayes
- Candidate must have the right to live and work in the UK unrestricted
