What work will you do?
With us at zeroG you will be helping airline and aviation-related customers transform their business with the power of data, either as part of a consulting team or by developing new, innovative products.
In this role, you will:
- Build modern infrastructure that our data scientists can use for agile data exploration and research
- Automate the extraction, loading and transformation of data from a wide variety of sources
- Engineer large, distributed data sets that are built for a purpose – from extracting complex model features from streaming data, to aggregating years’ worth of data in a BI dashboard
- Turn data science prototypes into products with battle-tested, production ready pipelines
- Communicate openly with customers to understand their business, identify their most important metrics, and define their data requirements
- Advise customers on how to improve their data quality and governance
- Support the orchestration and maintenance of cloud infrastructure
- Work with teams of data scientists, analysts, and developers

- Min. five years in the field of data engineering, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex data solutions
- Solid knowledge in building and optimizing data lakes and other storage solutions
- Expertise in relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL) and data warehouses (e.g. Snowflake)
- Well versed in the optimization and maintenance of distributed datasets and data pipelines.
- Fluency in Python, SQL, and Apache Spark
- Good knowledge of pipeline orchestration frameworks (e.g. Airflow, Dagster)
- Strong skills in architectural know-how to select the right technologies for the right use case.
- Technical understanding of how to meet non-functional requirements, e.g. query performance and scalability.
- Knowledge of how to ensure data quality and governance, as well as security.
- Self-starter mentality and eagerness to learn more every day.
- Willingness to mentor and guide junior data engineers.
