Tasks

As a Flight Data Contact, you are the trusted link between flight data, crews and safety. Through experts’ analysis and confidential discussions, you will help identify operational risks, support continuous learning, enhance Just Culture and actively contribute to safer flight operations. 

  • Monitor compliance with Flight Ops SOPs through systematic data analysis 
  • Use a flight data monitoring tool to timely identify and analyse operational safety data 
  • Ensure the confidential handling of flight data in accordance with Just Culture principles 
  • Engage with flight crews to discuss significant operational deviations and promote continuous learning
  • Serve as contact for individual crews seeking confidential evaluation of a specific flight 
  • Support the implementation and enhancement of flight data recording and analysis tools 
  • Contribute flight data expertise to safety investigations and risk assessments 
  • Bring non-routine occurrences in a confidential and anonymous base to the attention of the Accountable Manager and the NPFO as directed

Requirements

You are an experienced captain with a strong sense of diplomacy and integrity, a passion for safety and ability to earn trust across the organisation.  

  • SWISS Senior Captain close to retirement with extensive operational experience and preferably a current or former instructor qualification
  • Thorough understanding of aviation safety, Safety Management Systems and Just Culture principles 
  • Trusted, respected and well-connected within SWISS 
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to evaluate complex data 
  • Capable of high level of accuracy, discretion and empathy when dealing with confidential matters
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage peers in open, honest and constructive dialogue 
  • Strong advocate of Just Culture and continuous learning
  • Fluent in English and German, French is an advantage
