As Team Lead Data & AI Solutions, you will take on the disciplinary and functional leadership of our 15-member team. Together, you will be responsible for the stable operation and continuous evolutionof our data, analystics, automation, and AI solutions. 

Tasks

  • You lead, motivate, and develop your disciplinary and functional team of Data &
    AI Engineers, Data Scientists, and BI specialists
  • You ensure the on-time, on-schedule, and on-budget delivery of innovative
    Data & AI solutions while adhering to Data & AI governance
  • You design the required IT landscape for Data & AI platforms in line with the digital, data, and AI strategies of Austrian and the Lufthansa Group
  • You translate complex business requirements into scalable data and AI solutions, collaborating closely with business and IT delivery units
  • You hold end-to-end responsibility for the design, development, testing, deployment, and operation of Data & AI products, reducing manual tasks
    through service automation
  • You ensure that the necessary ITSM processes (e.g., Incident Management) are implemented in compliance with SLAs
  • You manage, monitor, and report the budget for your entire area of responsibility
  • You support tech enablement and digital/AI literacy initiatives with your own ideas to drive the sustainable adoption of AI solutions

Your Role at Austrian

In this key role, you will actively shape our digital, data, and AI strategy, while expanding a scalable architecture for modern analytics, machine learning, and Generative/Agentic AI. You will also act as the central interface to the Head of Digitalization, Data & AI as well as the Lufthansa Group. 

Your Contribution

You will drive the transition from traditional business intelligence and data platforms towards modern AI-enabled capabilities, ensuring that data and AI create measurable value.

Requirements

  • You hold a university degree in IT, Business Informatics, or possess equivalent, long-standing relevant experience
  • You bring at least 3 years of leadership and industry experience within a dynamic IT environment
  • You possess profound, proven know-how in ITIL processes as well as modern IT architecture

  • You have extensive expertise in Business Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence
  • You are well-versed in utilizing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps working methodologies
  • You feature strong strategic thinking skills, enabling you to successfully implement Lufthansa Group & Austrian guidelines and governance frameworks
  • You demonstrate a high level of service orientation and quality awareness to ensure customer satisfaction, reliability, and an optimal time-to-market
  • You are a communication talent with excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of interacting confidently with business units, IT providers, and group- level interfaces
  • You bring empathy, motivational skills, and a genuine passion for talent development to inspire your team to reach their full potential
