Tasks

What will you be responsible for?

  • We are looking for an experienced Manual Turner to join our aircraft MRO team. You'll operate manual lathes to fine tolerances, producing precision aircraft components while working from technical drawings.
  • The role requires a high standard of workmanship, the ability to work independently, and a strong focus on quality, safety and environmental procedures.
  • You'll maintain your Practical Experience Record (PER), keep your work area to 5S standards, and may support the training of colleagues.
  • This is a 37.5-hour shift-based role with occasional overtime.

Requirements

What you’ll need?

  • Minimum 5 years' experience operating manual lathes to fine tolerances.
  • Machine shop technology training and strong machining knowledge.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) and fluent written and spoken English.
  • Experience with manual/CNC milling and grinding is desirable.
  • Able to work independently with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible to work rotating shifts and overtime when required.
  • Willing to complete mandatory training and follow safety procedures.
