The Relief Engineer function supports SWISS and customer operations worldwide. This support is needed in case of planned or unplanned absences of the Station Engineers overseas.

Other tasks contain Flying Station Engineer duties on SWISS (Edelweiss) flights as well as the technical support during our Pilot Flight Trainings.

  • Substitution of the respective engineer at any station of our network
  • Possible Flying Station Engineer Duties with SWISS or Edelweiss Air
  • Attending Pilot Flight Training as responsible maintenance representative
  • Pre-Flight-, Daily- and Weekly Checks and On-Call Maintenance
  • Issue the “Certificate of Release to Service” in accordance with the SPL and the limits
    given on the personal “Company Authorization” and by EASA Part-66 and EASA Part-145
  • Trouble Shooting in accordance with License Privileges
  • Office and Store duties
  • Strive for “on time performance”

  • At least 2 years of experience within Line Maintenance environment
  • Aircraft Maintenance Type ratings, EASA Part 66 B1 (and B2) such as B747 (GE/PW/RR), B777 (RR/GE/PW), B6787 (RR/GE), A220 (PW),
    A320 (CFM56/V2500/PW1100/LEAP), A330 series (RR/PW/GE), A340 (CFM56/RR), A350 (RR) and A380 (GP/RR).
  • Decision taking skills under time pressure
  • Communication skills within a multi-cultural team
  • Team player with ambition to take the lead
  • Excellent interpersonal and intra cultural competence
  • Ability to represent the SWISS Technical Division in a professional, friendly and polite manner
